The long version

About Tsvi.

Twenty years on Wall Street, a practice now in South Florida — where time, not speed, is the discipline.

01 / Origin

Before all this.

I came up on skates. Hockey is the rare game in which the player carrying the puck is not the one most likely to be remembered. The line wins games. You trust your linemates. You take your shift. And you learn, early, that being in the right place when the puck arrives is worth more than the highlight reel.

The rink is past tense; the discipline isn’t. I run most mornings — the longer the better, on the days the calendar allows. The body keeps its own records, and they tend to be honest ones.

“The line wins games, not the player.”

That instinct still runs my work. I am at center ice for every shift, but I never confuse position with possession. The team I’ve surrounded myself with sharpens every read; the relationships I built over twenty years on Wall Street earn the seat at every table that matters.

02 / The pivot
2016 → 2019 → 2021 → 2023

Why private. Why now.

A dozen years on the public markets came first — the formative chapter, where the discipline was sharpened reading tape, running risk, and stewarding real capital. That work is the ground every later conviction rests on.

My first exposure to private markets came in 2016. The signals were quiet but unmistakable: value was migrating off the public exchanges, and the gates that had long protected the best opportunities were beginning to open to capital that arrived with patience rather than haste.

I bought in by 2019. By 2021, private markets were my sole focus — the public markets weren’t finished, but the more interesting trade, plainly, was the longer one.

Sakal Ventures, founded in 2023, is what that conviction looks like with a vehicle attached. South Florida, by choice — where the clock runs slower and time does its actual work.

In 2026, none of this is controversial. Every allocator’s deck argues some version of it. But the trade had to be made earlier, when private is the new public was a thesis still seeking its evidence.

03 / Chapters

A career, in chapters.

The work began on the public markets — a stockbroker reading the tape, then leadership across broker-dealers, then a long/short hedge fund of my own founding, then a wealth practice for families and institutions. Today it sits in the private markets at Sakal Ventures, where the same discipline buys longer horizons.

Sakal Ventures
Venture Founding Partner

Founded 2023 in South Florida. The vehicle for a thesis that began with first exposure in 2016, bought in by 2019, and made the sole focus by 2021 — that private markets are where time and proof now compound best. Passive allocations into category leaders, long horizons.

A long/short equity hedge fund built around interdisciplinary portfolio construction — and around a team whose reading of underlying value sharpened every position I took.

Led a team stewarding $150M+ for ultra-high-net-worth families and institutions. The chapter that taught me what trust actually purchases over decades.

04 / Off-duty

Off the desk.

Father of two. Wellness is a daily practice, not a phrase from a brochure — early mornings, simple food, hours outdoors. I show up for my city, my friends, and the slower commitments that, in the end, matter more than the noisier ones.
